EMc2 - THE ARTIST
SLIDESHOW
EMc2 is simply short for Elton McWashington, Jr. Chances are you have walked right past a mural, or someone wearing a t-shirt, or driven past a restaurant sign, or seen something bearing the "E" signature and artwork. It all started with simple, yet detailed, pencil drawings, then evolved to airbrushing, and then digital illustration. Prairie View A&M University is the place where the artist known as "E-Mac" was born.
His major influences are among the world's elite painters and illustrators. Mike Thompson, Hajime Sorayama, Frank Frazetta, Jim Lee, John Biggers, Brenda Joysmith, Kadir Nelson, O.G. Abel, Thomas Blackshear, Ernie Barnes, J.C. Gill II, Craig Elliott, Hyung Tae Kim, Hokusai and Leonardo Da Vinci. And there are many more. Each of these influences exhibit an eye for detail that is utterly stunning.
EMc2 currently works in the screenprinting field, where he has created some of the most popular Black Greek shirt designs in the country. Visit any HBCU homecoming and you will probably see some of his designs.
Keep an eye out for EMc2 both as a commercial and fine artist to add to your collections.
