DEEP BLU SEE

DEEP BLU SEE emerged into the world of poetry and spoken word in November of 2000. He is one of a handful of word artists who hail from the northern parts of Houston, Texas. His trademark baritone delivery has become his signature, even gaining him the title as Houston's Barry White of poetry. His stagename is a simple description of his personality and character. "Deep" refers to the depth of his voice and thoughts. "Blu" is the color of his laidback disposition. "See" is an indicator of him being a gifted visionary force. From sultry and down-to-Earth love and sensual poems, to gritty and truthful social commentary, to reverent spiritual poems, to light hearted and relative humor, Mr. See has an impressive repertoire.

Blu's major influences are a mixture of today's most distinguished lyricists and vocal talents. Morgan Freeman, Lawrence Fishburne, Maya Angelou, Talaam Acey, Andrea Gibson, Gill Scott Heron, Barry White, Common, Jay-Z, Outkast, Scarface, Mos Def, Black Thought, Ursula Rucker, Cedric Ary, Eminem, Mike Rowe and several others form the list of those studied on the road to becoming an outstanding performance poet. During his time on the scene he has become one of the its most respected figures, and seeks further to become one of the great names in spoken word poetry.

In addition to becoming a great poet and writer, Blu also has another facet to the powerful gift with which he has been blessed. Long before the words came, there was the visual art aspect. Check out "The Artist" link above to see the other side of the gift.
